On August 29, Wenchuan Heavy Industry held a grand ceremony at its Qinzhou base dock to celebrate the loading of the first batch of monopiles for an overseas wind power project and to mark the achievement of one million safe working hours. Project owners and their teams attended the event together, witnessing this significant milestone that underscores both technological breakthroughs and stringent safety management. This milestone marks a crucial step forward for the company in the field of high-end offshore wind power equipment manufacturing.

The wind turbine monopiles delivered this time represent the largest overseas wind power order the company has ever undertaken, and they are also a key project under our internationalization strategy. The order covers the manufacturing of monopiles for a total of 32 turbine positions, with each monopile having an outer diameter ranging from 8 to 11.5 meters, an average length of approximately 90 meters, and a maximum weight of up to 2,000 tons. The total volume exceeds 60,000 tons, and the technical standards and quality requirements fully align with the world’s leading levels. Since construction began on January 15, 2025, the project team has worked tirelessly for 226 days and has now completed the fabrication of all pipe sections and segments. Notably, the first batch of eight monopiles met delivery requirements in just180 days, laying a solid foundation for subsequent shipments.
Coating Breaks Through Barriers, Efficiency Doubles to Set a Benchmark
The coating process has achieved a major breakthrough, becoming a standout highlight that showcases our technological prowess. Faced with challenges such as controlling the uniformity of the intermediate coat in whole-pile coating, low coating efficiency for large components, and stringent requirements for corrosion resistance, the technology and production departments jointly established a task force. Through measures includingprocess optimization, refinement of operational procedures, introduction of high-efficiency spraying equipment, and enhanced staff training, the coating cycle per single pile has been shortened from35 days to 17 days, increasing efficiency by 52%. Monthly production capacity has doubled from3 piles to 6 piles, providing strong assurance for project schedule progress.
100-day intensive effort—excelling in both speed and safety
Not only has the painting process achieved remarkable results, but the project’s overall production efficiency has also set a new industry record. Taking the first monopile as an example, the production cycle took only128 days, a reduction of44% compared to the domestic industry average of 230 days, establishing a new benchmark for offshore wind monopile manufacturing with ‘China Speed.’ This achievement is attributable to the team’s continuous innovation in areas such as raw material testing, control of flange welding deformation, precise calibration of the entire monopile, and internal plant transportation.
While advancing efficiently, the project has consistently upheld the principle of 'safety first,' achieving an outstanding record of one million safe work hours without any accidents, fully demonstrating the effectiveness of the project’s HSE management system and the employees’ commitment to standardized operations.
